World Water Day /
Interactive experience, public art installation “Water Ripples” at New York's Grand Central Terminal. Creative + Experiential.
MediaMonks, New York 2018
For World Water Day, Stella Artois wanted to celebrate the ripple made in the global water crisis. We took over Grand Central Terminal with a towering, kinetic installation housing 600 individual moving droplets, designed to show the impact one person has, providing water to someone who needs it.
Art + Commerce for a good cause
We produced a 36-foot high kinetic art installation inside Grand Central Station that immersed passersby with a wave of 600 motor-controlled water droplets …
MediaMonks developed the complete experience; from the virtual installation design to the physical point-of-purchase and integration of the social media takeaway.
The Experience
Stepping onto the stage, patrons could trigger a stream of illuminated optical fibers, surging up the main pillar.
Various three-dimensional motion patterns were programmed into the behaviour of the installation, therefore every user generated his very unique water ripple.
Social Media Takeaway
Visitors of the installation received their personal moment of interaction to post on social media. Millions of unique interactions were captured and shared as a result of this experience.
